The THULE Epic Trail Point to Point race takes riders on an incredible journey through the magical alpine wilderness that surrounds Mt Buller in the Australian Alps. Passing over mountain summits, beside rumbling rivers and along trails that slalom through Snowgums and towering Alpine Ash this is a simply magnificent ride that will fill you with breathless satisfaction.

The race goes along the full length of The Epic Trail (with a few minor amendments to keep the quality high resulting in slightly less climbing) and includes a couple of solid climbs with 1,700m climbing along its full length, but this is more than off-set by the quality and quantity of flowing XC single track descending with 2,600m of descending!! In fact if you have heard someone refer to the ‘the best descent in Australia’ then chances are they are referring to the final descent that plunges 700m down to the Delatite River just before the finish.

The 2019 Bike Buller Festival was the first event to race along its entire length and was met with race reviews so we are super excited to be conducting this race again in 2020!

“The Epic Trail is the jewel in the crown of Mt Buller’s stellar trail network” Mick Ross, co editor FLOW MTB.

The Epic Trail is obviously open to ride publicly as well, but with your race entry you’ll receive plenty of extras like:

  • Full medical support along the course if you become unstuck
  • A fully marked and marshaled course from end to end to help you along your way
  • A fully stocked water point at the 22km pt
  • Bag transfers from the start to the finish
  • Race timing, from end to end as well as a separate segment for the final descent(!)
  • Arranged shuttle bus to get you and your bike back to the start at Mt Buller (extra $20 fee if you need the bus)

+ The chance to truly ‘race your mates’ along this iconic track – who’s king of the trails!
